DAVID SALTER PRIVATE FINANCIAL DISPUTE RESOLUTION (“FDR”)

Information Commissioner’s Office No. ZA518122

General Privacy Policy

  1. I provide a Private FDR service. In legal terms, I am a data controller  and data privacy manager of your personal information (“information”) and so subject as from 25th May 2018 to the UK General Data Protection Regulation (“GDPR”).

  2. I define as clients people who attend a Private FDR. If you become a client, the use I make of your information will be as set out in your contract with me. As explained in that document, I cannot do the job for which you will be contracting me without holding your information.

  3. I do not approach anyone unless there has been a referral to me for Private FDR services.

  4. In order to process a referral, I need to take information such as names, postal addresses, email addresses and telephone phone numbers of the people involved in the issues that need resolving. This information is used for legitimate interests, that being that Private FDRs are considered a potentially beneficial way of resolving issues in family proceedings.

  5. I get your information either from you or from whoever makes the referral. I do not use any automated processes. I do not sell your personal information to anyone else, nor will I pass it on elsewhere without your consent. What may happen to your information is set out in the contract with you. I hold your information only for as long as I need to complete a referral.

  6. You have the right to request access to your information and to know how I process it; to ask for your information to be corrected if it’s inaccurate or completed if incomplete; to ask me to erase your personal information (subject to any contractual agreement for me to retain it); to request that I restrict the processing of your information; to receive from me the information which I hold about you in a reasonable format and to object to me processing your information. You can do any of these things free of charge, but please note that these are not absolute rights and so I may be entitled to refuse your request, for example, if I can show my processing is necessary for a lawful purpose as set out in this notice or in any contract which I have with you.

  7. You acknowledge that the internet is not a completely secure medium and that I cannot offer an absolute guarantee of the security of data submitted electronically. I am not responsible for any loss or damage which you or others may suffer as a result of loss of confidentiality of information sent to me.
